Carpe Air Cooled Condenser features long-term mechanical and thermal integrity, excellent corrosion resistance, low fan power consumption, reliable operation and low maintenance, with highly efficient automatic fin cleaning system.

Carpe Air cooled steam condenser is required to condense the exhaust steam from the turbine into the condensate at constant pressure and temperature and required to maintain the backpressure at the turbine exhaust.

Carpe Air cooled steam condenser comprises of Tube Bundles with Circular Multi Row Finned Tube Bundles or Single Row Finned Tube Bundles fixed at a height on a “A” frame Steel Structure. Axial Flow fan mounted at the lower vertex of the ‘A’ frame throw the ambient air into the ‘A’ Frame. When the Air passes through the finned tube bundles it cools the Steam flowing inside the finned tubes & extracting the latent heat of condensation from steam. The reduction of latent heat results in condensation of steam into water at saturated temperature.

The typical scope for an ACC installation includes the Tube Bundles, supporting structure, the steam ducting from the steam turbine with distribution duct, auxiliaries such as the condensate & Hotwell tank, Condensate and drain pumps, air evacuation units (Steam Jet Air Ejector or Vacuum Pumps) and related piping works and instrumentation.

Multi Row Finned Tube Bundles construction is rigid in nature i.e. tube nest, with self-supporting structure with C frame, Tube sheet and tube supports and associated structure. Tube bundle are with circular finned tubes. Finned surfaces of aluminium over Carbon steel tubes SA214. Carpe offers Circular Finned Tubes with following Fin Geometries:

Single Row Tube Air Cooled Steam Condensers
Single Row Finned Tube Bundles construction is rigid in nature i.e. elongated; flat tube with brazed aluminium fins both sides of tube. Condenser with Single Row Rectangular Carbon Steel tubes with aluminium fins has larger heat transfer area per bundle which results in reduced footprint, low tube bundle weight and reduced auxiliary fan power consumption.

Hybrid Air Cooled Steam Condensers

Locations where ambient temperature are very much on higher side for a bigger period during the year Carpe offers solution having combination of Air Cooled Condensers, Cooling Towers, surface condensers and Air Cooled Heat Exchangers which is named as “Hybrid Air Cooled Condenser”. These hybrid air cooled condensers are commonly used when water is available but not in the quantities necessary to support a 100% wet cooled condensing system.

Carpe also offers Air Cooled Condensers with reduced ambient temperature using mist cooling system installed at air inlet of ACC. Using bare minimum water to cool the inlet air to ACC where temperature during the peak summer affects the performance of ACC.
